The Word 'Psychic' Was The Weapon

Every so often a comment lands on one of my videos that says some version of the same thing, that this is evil, that I am working with demons, that people like me are what the world needs saving from. In the beginning I used to answer them. I would write out long careful replies explaining what I actually teach, and I would sit there refreshing to see if the explanation landed, and it never once did, because the person leaving that comment is not weighing evidence, they are regurgitating what they are told they are allowed to believe.

What I notice now is that the reaction never arrives when someone describes the experience. It arrives when someone names it. Tell a woman that she knew something was wrong with her child before the phone rang and she will nod, because every mother in the room has her own version of that story. Tell her that her body picked up information and delivered it to her as a knowing and she is still nodding. Use the word psychic and the temperature in the room changes, and that change has nothing to do with what you described, it happened because of a single word. Psychic.

So the word is worth looking at directly, because it is doing more work than most people realize.

A young word carrying old fear

Psychic is not an ancient word. It entered common English in the 1800s, during the Spiritualist era, when seances were filling parlors and researchers were building instruments to measure whatever was happening in them, and it was contested from the moment it arrived. Religious institutions had a great deal to lose if ordinary people decided that information could reach them without passing through an authorized interpreter first, and scientific institutions had their own reasons to draw a hard line around what counted as real. Between the two, the word ended up meaning something closer to fraud, madness, or damnation than it ever meant something closer to perception and intuition.

You can argue about whether anyone designed that outcome deliberately. I have my own opinions there and I will not pretend otherwise, but the argument is almost beside the point, because the effect is identical either way. Generations of people inherited a forced understanding attached to a word, and that has outlived anyone who could explain where it came from, which is exactly how conditioning becomes invisible. Nobody has to enforce it anymore. It enforces itself in the comment section, for free, by people who are certain the thought is their own.

The function does not change when you rename it

Here is the test I would offer anyone who believes this is evil, and I would offer it gently, because most people who believe it are not cruel, they are frightened, and fear is not a character flaw. Fear is designed to keep you inside the mind and not out exploring.

The next time you get a knowing about which way to drive, do not act on it. The next time your stomach turns over about a person you have just met, override it and stay. The next time you walk into your own house, or the house of someone else, and something feels off and you cannot say why, ignore it and go to bed. The next time an idea for your business arrives whole, at three in the afternoon, unrelated to anything you were doing, dismiss it as interference.

Nobody is willing to do this, and they should not be willing, because the function being described is not optional and it is not decorative. It is how human beings have located danger, food, allies, and opportunity for as long as there have been human beings. Mother's intuition is this. The gut feeling is this. Reading a room is this. Knowing the call is bad news before you answer is this. It is all the same capacity wearing whichever name is socially safe in the moment, and the only thing the word psychic adds is a fear response that was trained into you rather than born in you.

What is actually happening in the body

When I say your body is an antenna I am not being poetic. Your body is emitting and receiving light at very low intensities, which researchers have been measuring for decades (this light is called biophotons), and the coherence of that emission shifts with your physiological state. Your vagus nerve, which runs from your lower stomach area up into your brain, is carrying information upward far more than it carries instruction downward, which means your body is constantly informing your brain rather than simply obeying it. Your thymus sits in the center of your chest and responds to states before your thinking mind has formed an opinion about them. Your pineal gland is photosensitive tissue in the center of your skull, which is a strange thing to find buried in bone unless light is relevant to it (which science has proved that it is).

Information reaches you, your body registers it, your nervous system translates it, and it surfaces in whichever channel is most open in you, which is why one person gets an image, another gets a sentence, another gets a wave of nausea, and another simply knows. That is the entire mechanism. There is no summoning in it, there is nothing to invite in, and there is no entity standing between you and the field, and there is nothing evil about it because the field is not a place you travel to, it is the medium you have been suspended in since before you were born.

Why the word does damage beyond hurt feelings

If this were only about being insulted online it would not be worth a blog post, but it is not only that, because fear is physiological and it changes what your body can do.

A nervous system braced for judgment runs sympathetic, and a sympathetic body narrows its attention to threat by design, which is useful when the threat is a car in the wrong lane and useless when you are trying to receive subtle information. Vagal tone drops, coherence drops, and the signal that was arriving perfectly well becomes hard to distinguish from your own alarm. So a person who has been taught that her psychic ability (aka intuition in the form of information coming into their body from the quantum field) is evil will chauk it up to coincidence, write it off, or not even pay any attention to it at all. That loop of disbelief and fear is airtight from the inside, and it is the single most common reason people come to me convinced that they are the exception, that everyone else has this and they do not.

They are not the exception. Their body is doing precisely what a frightened body does. Their mind is also doing what they have been conditioned and programmed to do...not believe in the magic and intuitive ability they truly have.

Where the work actually starts

This is why I do not begin with technique. You can learn every psychic development protocol in the world and still receive nothing usable if your body goes on alert the moment you open, because the opening is not a mental event, it happens in tissue, organs, cells, in vagal tone, and in the state of your chest, throat, and gut. Getting the fear out is not a mindset exercise, it is nervous system work, and it is repeatable, which is the part most people find surprising.

That is what The Unblocked Intuitive™ teaches. It works through the systems of the body (I call this the Intuitive System) that govern reception, it retrains the physiology underneath the fear rather than arguing with the fear on its own terms, and it treats your ability as a biological function you already run rather than something rare that arrives from outside you.

You were never given something dangerous. You were given a word that made you afraid of your own equipment, and you are allowed to put it down.

Xoxo,
Melinda
